Grace Greater Than Our Sin

by Julia H. Johnston (1911)

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt,
Yonder on Calvary’s mount out-poured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Refrain:
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide,
What can avail to wash it away!
Look! there is flowing a crimson tide;
Whiter than snow you may be today. [Refrain]

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe;
You that are longing to see his face,
Will you this moment his grace receive? [Refrain] Continue reading

Lydia’s Bed and Breakfast

annie-spratt-89768

Acts 16:13-15  And on the Sabbath we went out of the city by a riverside, where prayer was accustomed to be made; and we sat down, and spoke unto the women who met there. Grace, Not Perfection

Grace Not Perfection 2Perfection’s highly
overrated. Give me grace
to let myself live,
to be human, to learn from
both victory and failure

This poem is based on the book by the same title that I am currently reading, written by Emily Ley. I’ve had a good many Wow! and Aha! moments while reading this book. I’ll go through it more slowly the second time (if that’s even possible), making notes and underlining/highlighting as I go along. I am brainwashing myself into believing that perfectionism is bad. It’s been my way of life for so long that it will take some effort to loosen its grasp on my mindset.

And just for the record, she is not paying me to promote her book, but I included a link above for you to buy it (her name) if you’re interested. I am happy to endorse it because it has changed my life by changing my mindset. Highly recommended!
