Life is all about waiting, but one thing in particular has my attention right now. For that reason, I decided that with this week’s photo challenge on waiting, I would focus on feet. Most of these photos are merely snapshots from my family photo albums, so don’t look for too much professionalism here. 🙂
At the beginning we wait for little feet to learn to walk, and sometimes it seems to take forever.
Once they learn to walk, they never stop. These little feet are waiting to grow up, and it looks like they are trying to grow up way too fast.
These webbed feet are waiting to fly.
Little feet can’t fly, but they are waiting to do big things.
Waiting for the perfect moment to send the ball down the field…
Waiting for a helping hand…
Waiting for the end of the routine…
Waiting to be unshackled…
This little guy is also waiting for release…
Waiting for healing…
Two sets of feet appear here: one is waiting to run, the other waiting to rest…
Life is all about waiting, but what are we really waiting for?
Here’s a hint…
Job 14:14 If a man dies, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes.
Psalm 25:5 Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are the God of my salvation; on you do I wait all the day.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Psalm 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
Psalm 62:1 Truly my soul waits upon God: from him comes my salvation.
Psalm 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in his word do I hope.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Lamentations 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
2 Thessalonians 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
James 5:7-8 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and has long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be you also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws nigh.
Ultimately we wait for God’s will to be accomplished in our lives.
And we also wait patiently for the coming of the Lord, when He will claim those who are His own, and our sinful bodies will be transformed into glorious bodies that will never decay, never grow old, and never sin any more.
But we are not the only ones who wait. God is waiting too.
Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of justice: blessed are all they that wait for him.
God does not want anyone to die without receiving His gift of salvation, so He waits. He is gracious, merciful, and a God of justice. He cannot allow sin in His presence, but He offers each one of us a robe of righteousness through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. This robe of righteousness fully covers our sin and makes it possible for us to enter boldly into His presence. He is waiting for you to claim your robe. What are you waiting for?
